I don't really have an objection to the CEO saying Bluesky is open to all; it's kind of his job to do that. But as others have pointed out, the design of the site means it's harder for trolls/bots/chuds *and also* influencers/hypebeasts to get traction. The "bubble" here is actually normal humans.

Elon Musk, owner of X, has called the editor of the Economist "a traitor to the West, plain and simple" after her recent interview with him. He now argues that "anyone who opposes remigration is a traitor" Musk has been socialising violence since Aug25: "fight or die, that's what it comes down to"
Climate change is making extreme weather events more frequent and more dangerous, even in Europe. It's not something that happens to other people. It's not something that will happen in the future. It's happening now, TO ALL OF US, and it will keep getting worse until we decide to act.
Holiday in the climate emergency. No that’s not AI or edited, just a snapshot I just took with my phone on Lacanau beach in France. What future will this boy grow up in? It is in our hands, but time is running out.

This is certainly true in Exeter, in fact in so-called "rush hour" cycling is much faster than driving. Except where there's no bike lane - then the crawling cars get in my way and slow me down 🙄
An underappreciated fact. Cycling really is about as fast as driving for a whole lot of trips within cities.
The state of the UK's right-wing media, in one simple chart...
As Ed Miliband leaves his post as energy and net-zero secretary, a final tally: There have been an incredible 251 newspaper editorials attacking him and his approach to net-zero since the start of 2024 That amounts to two editorials a week, mainly in the Sun, Daily Mail, Times and Daily Telegraph.
A guy sat down next to me wearing this shirt. I said to him, “Were you happy in the haze of a drunken hour, or were you looking for a job and then you found a job?” He looked at me like I was crazy.
Spain’s Nico Williams gave his mother, Maria, his World Cup winner’s medal after Sunday’s final ❤️💛 Nico's parents trekked some 2,000 miles across the Sahara from Ghana to Spain as refugees. Now, their son is a world champion 🥹
Unless this “honesty” involves the recognition that immigrants are *not* the root cause of the UK’s problems *but* actually a part of the solution to them, this will be completely pointless. I cannot stress this enough. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Europe's record-breaking heat wave is a public health emergency. 🇫🇷 France estimates 1,000 excess deaths in just 3 days, with daily deaths surging from 900–1,000 to 1,400+. 85% of victims were aged 65+. This event is ~200× more likely than it was 20 years ago. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/e...
