qt what you bring to interviews instead of iced coffee, wrong answers only

My job before the deli was cleaning campground toilets. Suffice it to say I think I earned that basic living wage. #crappycomics #fuckai #eattherich

You should assume to a first approximation that basically every AAA game franchise with a sufficiently large cast has a dating sim pitch sitting around that the designers were perfectly serious about but got laughed off by someone higher up

Holy shit, this is literally how Dragon Age Inquisition started 👀

Pope Leo XIV has been gifted a massive green orb and honestly not now massive green orb

It's 'REPULSIVE IN ITS SPLENDID BEAUTY' by Crowbar, if you want to know. #comics #crappycomics #fuckai

And now for something completely different. Or. Maybe not that different. It's a longer comic than usual. Which is different. Also TW for ommetaphobia.🧵1/2

I was 8, living on the other side of the country. My mom didn't wake me up to take me to school that morning. I woke up way later than usual and wandered into the living room to see her watching the news. She pulled me into a hug. I had no idea what any of it meant, only that she was scared.

How old was y’all during 9/11

This is what I mean when I say that its depressing doing art, writing fics, gposing, ect and getting crickets in response. "Do it because you like it" only goes so far when fandom is supposed to be nerds and creatives supporting each other.

The tags on this Tumblr post really sum up how I feel as a writer about the current state of fandom, and my increasing lack of motivation to write & share fics

This is actually a big part of my research: how we've turned art into "content" and artists into "content creators." It dehumanizes art, which makes it much easier to exploit artists. Big companies and even governments invest in this concept for a reason.

This also kind of extends to people to talk about not liking how an artist posts little art and it’s mostly rambling It often feels odd that’s discussed during my time of posting online for over a decade. Art is a part of us, it doesn’t encompass us as a whole

I seem to be getting used to drawing with my left hand already. 😩 I mean, it's still pretty scrungly, but not *gloriously* scrungly. I need more scrungle. Also my advisors are perfectly nice people. Advising just kind of sucks in general. #crappycomiks #comics #fuckai

Portraits of my cats. My best work yet. 🥰 No seriously for reals I actually love these drawings so much. Also don't worry I'll be back to my non-trolling art once I can find my Apple Pencil. It's evaporated out of existence, apparently. #art #comics #fuckai

Inspiration (sorta) struck. It's not very funny but then again, these are very crappy comics. Anyone else got ADHD paralysis, raise your hand, we can weep hysterically together. #adhd #ocd #art #imtiiiiiiredofthisgrampa #wellthatsTOODAMNBAD

This is directed at Meta, but my art has definitely been et by other social media AI, so why not post here too. I have no idea if this woulf even work, but I came up with the idea in the middle of the night and it was just too fun not to try.. #fuckai #antiai

Wanted to share this incredibly sweet commission I recently did for @sofiemystique.bsky.social . Always a privilege. I'm always up for hugs and thoroughly besotted couples. ♥️ #dragonage #datv #emmrichvolkarin #emmrook #digitalart

ko-fi.com/elkaby/commi... Commissions are open again! I promise I'm willing to do other subjects besides Dragon Age and Emmrich Volkarin, that's just my favorite. ♥️ #commissionsopen #opencomms #artcomms #digitalartist

There is no version of yourself you could become that would satisfy the people who hate you. So you might as well be who you are.

My most recent commission!!! I loved being able to capture such a beautiful moment. Also, Frilly Shirt Emmrich. #emmrichvolkarin #dragonage #datv

Lilac@amandalilac.bsky.social · 3mo ago

Art by @elkaby.bsky.social always makes my day 🥰 Alanna and Emmrich on their honeymoon, enjoying the sunlight, beaches, and crumbling forts of Rivain. The lyrium dagger and its replica were crafted into rings, both jewelry and people glowing in their happily ever after. #dragonage #emmrichvolkarin

Hey, guess what? I've got a new item on my commission menu! For £10, I've got the LOVE SNEAK ATTACK Discord Sticker. Tell me what two characters you want and I'll draw them in this template! (Shown below with Atash pelting Emmrich) Link here (and in the pinned post): ko-fi.com/elkaby/commi...

Finished this redo of a painting I did back at the very beginning of my Emmrich fandom, when I was also at the very beginning of my journey deconstructing the shame around sex and sexuality I'd been conditioned to feel. Still working on that but I've come a long way! ♥️ #dragonage #datv #emmrook

On the 250th Anniversary of the accepted official beginning of the US, let's doff our hats to our best Founder, Thomas Paine. 1/

Atash did not. She *really* wanted to with every fiber of her being, but deep down knew that further fragmenting the Wardens would not help and if there's still a chance they can ALL finally fight on the same side, she's going to take it.

Dragon Age OC Question of the Day@daocqotd.bsky.social · 4mo ago

#daOCqotd Did your Rook punch the First Warden? Why/why not?

I love me a good #sketchbooktour but I think there's a need for a dose of a more scribbly reality. Draw your bad drawings. Art isn't meant to be pretty all the time. It's meant to come from YOU. #fuckai #antiai #artist

AI is not inevitable. It is, in fact, very evitable. #fuckai

...i feel like the wrong people are being laid off at videogame studios ALL I WANT IN LIFE ARE OVERCOMPLICATED DATING SIMS WHERE I OCCASIONALLY COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW BAD I AM AT FIGHTING it doesn't even have to be dragons

Destiny 2 devs repeatedly pitched a dating sim, Bungie veterans say, "but leadership was very Hard No that nobody wanted romance or silliness" www.gamesradar.com/games/destin...

OH AND I did a collaboration piece, with Lilac Volkarin 's amazing writing! "Emmrich Volkarin and the Necromancer of the Venefication Sea" - go READ IT, it's amazing! Emmrich gets to swash some buckles and wear a big frilly pirate shirt. What else do you need? #emmrichvolkarin #dragonage
