And now the best part: Bot traffic from the #Yandex network has plunged to near zero following the strike on its Vladimir data center. Bot traffic includes automated requests from search crawlers, scrapers and other online services. Twitter must be a ghost town by now.

Just a friendly reminder that plague is prevalent, including in the western United States (see, prairie dogs), with multiple cases annually. It is also highly treatable and, yes, lab acquired infections (incl. fatal cases) have happened over the years, including e.g., UChicago.

The basic reproduction number of pneumonic plague is around 1.3, meaning one infected person infects an average of 1.3 other people. For measles, it's 12 to 18, meaning that on average, one person with measles will infect 12 to 18 other people in a population without any immunity or vaccination.
