"As things stand, students who commit infractions like plagiarism — which typically has no real victims — are often punished more harshly than the male students directly responsible for making the campus dangerous for female ones."

Its been a week, but this morning I was joined by 68 sighthounds for the great global greyhound walk Newcastle Australia edition and my cup has been filled ❤️. My girl Poppy had a great time too (I climbed up on a sketchy fence to get that shot! Greyhound cult dedication is next level 🤣)

ARC says they'll announce outcomes of Future Fellowships (FT26) tomorrow (Tue 8 Sep). In recent times, these announcements have been around 11am Canberra time, though certainly with some variation. My bot will automatically post within a minute after the announcement.

Tomorrow (Tuesday 8 Sept), we will announce the outcome of the ARC Future Fellowships (FT26). Stay tuned for the update!

When questioned by @jsresearchpro.bsky.social for Research Pro News, ARC said info they inadvertently published about Future Fellowships (FT26) & DECRAs (DE27) 2 weeks ago was "inaccurate". How? They do not say. FT26 outcomes tmrw 👀 And, … err, why is ARC publishing "inaccurate" info? Seems … bad?

Some substantial changes announced by ARC for next (supposedly final) rounds of some schemes, esp. Discovery Projects👇 🔹CIs can only be on one DP28 app 🔹CIs on successful DP26 or DP27 apps cannot apply 🔹Rejoinder process “has been removed and replaced with more detailed feedback to applicants” ⁉️

Do not normalize children dying from measles. Measles was previously eliminated in the US, thanks to vaccines. When children die from measles, it means that adults have catastrophically failed to protect them because they have rejected basic science.

I am proud of this paper. Since it came out in 2022 it has received 0 citations (yes that's a zero). But multiple young scientists have found it useful! (from other labs, so they were not coerced...). Perhaps you will find it useful too? SOME TIPS FOR WRITING SCIENCE doi.org/10.1523/ENEU...

Comprehensive study from Gavan McNally's team on punishment learning As always, behavioral analyses are superb👌 and the dissociable contributions of basolateral amygdala and zona incerta to retention of punishment learning is really interesting www.jneurosci.org/content/earl...
