Loved this article by @samillingworth.com (whom I stumbled upon via his new book "Slow AI: Knowing When to Use AI and When to Leave It Alone"). Going to start reading Aristotle's Rhetoric, first his "Five texts that build the skills AI cannot replicate": theslowai.substack.com/p/why-humani...

The Humanities Are the Moat

Twenty years of defunding the disciplines that teach judgement. Now we are surprised nobody can tell when AI is wrong.

Hey, um… get off X. They monetize societal division and amplify hate. Posting content there gives people a reason to stay and you enable their brainwashing and revisionism. One of the greatest things you can do right now is help unplug the billionaire machine and eject from the attention economy.

Wowsers look at what happened to posts on Twitter/X about London crime after monetisation of posts was introduced… economist.com/britain/2026...

Walz: "To Americans who are watching this, I've got a question for you: What side do you want to be on? The side of an all powerful federal govt that can kill, injury, menace, & kidnap its citizens off the streets? Or on the side of a nurse at the VA hospital who died bearing witness to such govt?"

If European Digital Sovereignty is to mean anything, it ought to mean NOT posting on a platform owned and run by a fascist intent on undermining the EU! And don't give me the bullshit you have to be there for "balance" or "reach" - the rules are stacked against you from the outset

They just don’t care.

Loom just introduced a new global shortcut that plays a horn sound. That alone is annoying, but better yet they forgot to add make it configurable. So now I can choose to make stupid sounds OR highlight text in my notes app. Which is what I've been using this shortcut for in the past 10+ years.

“BRANDMAUER VERTEIDIGEN! Keine Zusammenarbeit mit Faschist*innen!”

Darunter steht in fetter, weißer Schrift:
“Do. 30.

	•	Letzte Generation
	•	SPD Freiburg
	•	Grüne Jugend Freiburg
	•	Junges Freiburg
	•	Fridays for Future Freiburg
	•	Freiburg gegen Rechts
	•	Studis gegen Rechts
	•	Jusos Freiburg

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers. This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.
