Lakia to me is one of those studios that is more concerned of quality over profitability. Sure it would be nice to see Wildwood have a successful box office and who knows, maybe it will. But like Kubo and the Two Strings and Missing Link, they will be remembered for said quality regardless

mady castigan✨ 🏳️⚧️@mady.cat · 7mo agoTo me, the striking thing to me about AI execs claiming their LLMs are conscious isn't that it's an unprovable, baseless claim. It's that if what they're claiming were somehow true, they would be admitting to creating millions of sentient, feeling beings that would be essentially slaves.
It's funny sometimes how a book or movie can be inadvertently, obliquely important to videogame history. The canonical first real time strategy game was Dune II. Resident Evil comes out of a game tie in to a half forgotten Kiyoshi Kurosawa TV movie.
Art exists to express the full spectrum of human feeling and experience. Our rational and irrational fears, our hope and our doom, what we believe to be true, and also what we fear could be true, what we hope isn't as well as wish could be. Positivity Culture tries to amputate the human spirit.
this is the most annoying type of Star Trek fan. the guys who adopt science fantasies about FTL travel being possible rather than focus on Roddenberry's real message (you should be having more and weirder sex, possibly with dolphins)
