I'd also like to mention Caption festival for this, it's a community run networking/conference event for comic makers, it's very offline and gives you the easiest access to talk to professionals ACROSS the industry. captionfestival.co.uk

- We need more options for newcomers to find entry points to the scene and to meet folk. Not everyone uses social media, and many subcommunities are hidden away on Discord servers/groupchats. We need more networking events or in-person meetups like drink&draws (esp sober ones) or discussion groups.

Still time to give us your feedback!

Getting so much lovely feedback from people about how much they enjoyed the #BF6toWatch panel at @captioncomicfest.bsky.social on Sat. And this is a great photo of Jua OK!, Yu-Ching Chiu, @starspilli.bsky.social and Shri Gunasekara. So here's some links for you to find out more about their work.

Small Press vs AI panel at @captioncomicfest.bsky.social was a blast!!! ⚔️🤖🔥 Thanks Amy Letts for being our chair and thanks to my fellow panellists @karriefransman.bsky.social @streakofpith.bsky.social & Kristina Stipetic (who joined last minute but rocked the stage)..we slayed!!

My answer to the “what perks are there to being involved in comics commentary?” question on the ‘Comics and Journalism” panel at @captioncomicfest.bsky.social yesterday was a succinct one. “I get to make a real difference for people who deserve to have a real difference made for them.”

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Caption Comic Festival is looking for volunteers for this year's event at Seacourt Hall, Oxford on 8 - 9 August. Volunteers get FREE entry and a FREE t-shirt! Please contact captionfest@gmail.com with your interest and for more details. #captioncomicfest26 #comicfest #oxford

A little reminder I’m a guest at @captioncomicfest.bsky.social on August 8th talking small press stuff on two different panels.

Attendees, we'd love your submissions for our programme book. B&W or Greyscale. Deadline 30 June. captionfestival.co.uk/submissions/

There's a #BF6toWatch panel at @captioncomicfest.bsky.social this year. I know the line-up because I put it together and it is truly awesome! You're going to meet some of the UK's true indie comics rising stars at Caption in August. captionfestival.co.uk/2026/04/13/c...

So I’m a guest at @captioncomicfest.bsky.social in August. I’ll be chairing one panel talking to some of this year’s super talented @brokenfrontier.bsky.social Six to Watch and sitting on another about comics journalism. Tiptop.

We still get questions about how Caption is different from other comics festivals. We stil have @andy-luke.bsky.social's very weird and funny film explaining this www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuQo...
