Fun episode. To “yes and,” I always picture Jonah as a satirical response to Ezekiel. I would also flip out if I’m given the same job as a nut job who had to lay on his side for 390 days, eat a scroll, and make bread with dung. That sounds like it sucks, I’d try to avoid it too.

Trump's insistence that he wants to try to get to heaven feels to me a huge exemplar of what is inherently problematic with western expressions of Christianity: that it is transactional, it's about results, it's about the endgame. Jesus' call to follow is an ACTIVE call. It's rooted in the present.
