Novellette started and finished, short story started and finished, new novel started. July was a good month.
Read 27 of 2026 was The Lighthouse at the Edge of the World by JR Dawson. As someone who rarely reads the back cover of a book and I had no idea what I was getting into with this. Great read. Deep characters and a very cool fantasy world. Strong 4/5
Read number 23 of 2026 was A Whisper in the Dark by Elizabeth Devecchi. If you’re looking for a fast paced read with a monster unlike anything you’ve read about before, you need to grab this one. Great characters all around in this and a great story to go along with it. 5/5
Movie poster tour day 1: Taxi Driver. One of my all-time favorite movies. Great character study and when I’m think about developing a character I’m writing, Travis Bickle and the way he is presented in this movie is always on my mind. It’s a classic for a reason.
Read 22 of 2026 was Spit Back the Bones by Teagan Olivia King. This was billed as a horror/romance which isn’t usually my bag (baby) but I really enjoyed it. It was definitely horror forward and I absolutely loved the family secrets and small town horror vibes in this book. Highly recommend. 4/5
These novels are better than the Great American State Fair that will have no performers and isn't even narrated by a coffee machine robot (though I can't promise my books have Milli or Vanilli). www.amazon.com/dp/B08RB4S319 scottsteinonline.com

Still on my office wall. Who knows how many millions of words Teddy Ballgame has seen me write over the years?
Read 20 of 2026 was Wilson by Jack Finn. One of the best parts about being an author is getting to know a whole bunch of other authors and getting a chance to read their books. I couldn’t wait to get into this one. If you like a creepy carnival story give this one a read. I couldn’t put it down. 5/5
I’ll be finishing my current novel soon and I’ve started brainstorming for my next novel. Here’s a couple photos of where I’ve been in my head the last few months (off the coast of Cape Cod) and where I’m headed next (the west). As always, keep reading and I’ll keep the books coming.
A blurb from the awesome @joescipione.bsky.social! Wildcat Thicket is out next week from @infestedpublishing.bsky.social and I hope you check it out!!!
I’ve gotten better at marketing, but as ever, I continue to learn. Today my 1st book is being re-released & I hope you check it out. Or if you already have, give it a boost. Perhaps we’ll get it in front of a pair of eyes that understand my type of justice. shotgunhoney.com/books/catalo...
