This is impressive and inspiring, but these people SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO THIS. There should be a polling location within a few minutes, preferably on their campus. Voting access has to stay a top priority for Dems when they’re back in power.

Credit where due: Kid took his learners permit test today & tho there was a lot of waiting, the Alexandria DMV was friendly & efficient. The testing people were smiley & congratulatory & folks at the windows were polite even in fraught situations (there always seem to be fraught situations)

In high school, my debate coach hired me to work for his company. I showed up to find an empty office, just a desk & phone. I was supposed to call people who had placed ads in the paper for...something (forget what)...and offer them some sort of deal & would get commission for any meetings I set up.
