Maybe a lobster pot? The metal frame is well squished and rusty in places, but the rope looks modern so it can't be that old. I hate this plastic rope we use for fishing. It must fragment and get everywhere at sea. 🙁

A possible lobster pot washed up on a sandy beach. It's twisted into a semi flat shape and is wrapped with at least 3 types of cord and netting, including the classic blue plastic rope.

I finally sorted out my coriander seeds. It's only been, what, 3 or 4 months? Sieved first to get rid of the last few twig bits, then into jars with a lil silica gel packet. 🙂 These aren't for cooking; the plants went a bit mouldy before I collected the seeds. But some might grow next year!

Astonished to see so many people actively defending more north sea gas licences from Burnham. "oh we need the gas though" "oh but china is worse" "oh but heat pumps are expensive" I want to scream.

Fungal grotto in a tree stump. I see these shrooms (or ones like them) a lot around here and I really like them. Isn't brown supposed to be a boring colour? Stuff like this makes me disagree 🙂

A cluster of toadstools nestled in a niche in a tree stump. They're a pale tan colour, more saturated at the top of the cap, speckled with dark brown scabs.

A tangle of fresh green growth, including some goosegrass, is growing at the front of the crevice.

We’re out here at Tennyson Fall Fest in Denver with our Spooky Season Collection! Its a beautiful day to take home some pottery ☕️ 🎃

I found this little weirdo on a strip of cut grass by the beach. Then the sun came out and all the grass lit up with a nice deep green, so I had to snap a pic. I'm never sure if I'm seeing something new or not; they change so much in just 24 hours.

A tiny toadstool with a thin, pearly white stalk and a bulbous creamy yellow cap. It's surrounded by recently cut blades of a thin grass.

As relevant now as it was then. Bryant was being interviewed about her plan to open conversion torture centres for gay people. At the time, she was platformed and respected for her hateful ideas because she operated within the bounds of respectability and decorum.

#OtD 14 Oct 1977 anti-gay crusader Anita Bryant was "pied" by Thom Higgins, a gay rights activist. She then began praying and burst into tears. Following a boycott, she lost her job as brand ambassador for Florida orange juice. More LGBT+ history here: workingclasshistory.com/tag/lgbtq/

'jk rowling is just protecting women and girls from trannies' is functionally no different from 'tommy robinson is just protecting women and girls from immigrants' it presupposes that trans ppl, or immigrants, are inherent dangers to women and girls and neither demographic actually is it's bigotry

These toadstools appeared overnight and were gone two days later. They're so bizarre. I know the important parts live in the soil itself, so I'm hopeful this means my raised bed has a healthy fungal component to go with all the humus and wee beasties 😁

A spread of small tan toadstools amongst some leggy looking clover. They have bulbous narrow caps and thin white stalks.

Another one of my "leave it and see" pots has produced more wild cabbage type things. I think it's a bit late in the year for them to come to much, but they're always nice to see.

A close up of some very small plants in a mossy flower pot. They have hairy tongue-shaped leaves and tiny white flowers.

If I was a Pokémon Gym Leader, my type of choice would be: Water 💧 and these would be my realistic, non-legendary picks: 1. Wartortle 2. Corsola 3. Castform 🌧 4. Lumineon 5. Lanturn 6. Pyukumuku (Probably should be Blastoise but I like Wartortle the most 🙂)

There is no such thing as a "Center-Right". There is no fascism light. These people are all the same once you pull the mask off. They'll hand power to open fascists if the alternative is helping the poor and marginalized and possibly inconveniencing the wealthy. Every single time.
