Today I've been poking around a bit of industrial scrub at the coast, which wasn't very nice, but I did find these really pretty willowherbs. They're quite a lot bigger than most of the ones I've seen. One to keep an eye on for when the fluffy seeds emerge.

Trans people won't stop until we've got equal rights, and the Gender Critical movement won't stop until all trans people are dead. Why is it trans people are being depicted as the "evil" ones here?

Today's foraging yielded some fun results 😊 On the left, seeds from a kind of bulb plant I've never seen before; possibly something called 'spring squill'. On the right, seeds from the bladder campions I first discovered a few weeks ago, finally ready to harvest.

I don't know what these extra shiny flies are called, buy the colours they make when they catch the sun are incredible. Fires in the Cairngorms are making things smokey here today. Wildfires in Scotland are apparently the new normal. 💀

These sneaky hawthorn saplings seem to spring up everywhere. This is in a dark corner against the wall of my house, in the dry, amongst old gravel. I'm not sure how they survive, but they seem to like it. But they can't stay here! These will go in pots, ready for making a hedge later on.

I have far, far more leek seeds than I could ever hope to use, but the wee beasties like the flowers so I'm very happy for them to keep doing what they do. I've had this tub of leeks for maybe 5 years now and I don't think I've ever tried to harvest an actual leek from it...

Some sort of sea-spurrey from up on the coast. It's another one of those little mat forming creepers with tiny flowers that I like so much. Lovely tints of purple on the petals, nastled amongst the long green sepals. Very pretty. ☺
