In 2002, Wadi Sūra II was discovered in the Western Desert of Egypt. A small rock overhang was found with painted animals of many types dating to about 7000 years ago. But it was a set of baby-size handprint stencils that presented a puzzle: because they weren't HUMAN hands.

This was one of the very few times I was driving on a highway and took the next exit to make a U-turn to get another look at something I'd passed. I didn't even know what they were at the time but knew it was a notable event of some sort.

AI is a software application. It does not hallucinate. And contrary to popular opinion, software doesn't "malfunction" in the sense a machine might if sand got into the gearbox. It performs exactly as it was programmed. Humans are ultimately responsible for every instruction and error in the code.

We need to stop say that AI “hallucinates” when it does not work. It did not perceive things that weren’t there because it has no perception. It malfunctioned.

There's a LOT of self-serving bullshit that Tillis should never be forgiven for. Kennedy and Hegseth are just a couple of recent glaring examples. He's been a conservative toady since 2002, and a Trump apologist/enabler since 2016. Fuck him. Hopefully the coming crash leaves him destitute. #NCpol
