I saw chaos inside and outside of the ICE detention center Delaney Hall today. Detainees protesting the lack of due process, the disgusting food and poor treatment while their families and advocates stood outside calling for help. 1/4
Feel like its bad that federal officials believe they can act with impunity in assaulting a United States Senator. Late stage empire shit. www.nj.com/news/2026/05...

Adulthood is just cycling between "If I don't say yes to every opportunity, no new opportunities will ever be offered to me" and "Oh no, I have said yes to too many things" over and over until you die.
New, from me: This should be a clarifying moment about the relationship the Supreme Court's opposition to representative democracy in America. Lets look at some graphs that make this point. 🧵 donmoynihan.substack.com/p/power-demo...

Many are appropriately outraged by Altman’s comments here implying that raising a human child is akin to “training” an AI model. This is part of a broader pattern where AI industry leaders use language that collapses the boundary between human and machine. 🧵/
SAM ALTMAN: “People talk about how much energy it takes to train an AI model … But it also takes a lot of energy to train a human. It takes like 20 years of life and all of the food you eat during that time before you get smart.”

At a deep theoretical level, Stephen Miller and JD Vance think their view that immigrants threaten social solidarity is widely shared. But what's now happening is MAGA is driving native-born Americans to show solidarity with immigrants. Now Miller is trying to break that up w/coercion and violence.
Terror is essential to Miller's project. It's designed to dissuade us from showing solidarity with the immigrants getting removed. Stand in the way of ethnic cleansing and you risk violence yourself. (h/t @whstancil.bsky.social and @sjshancoxli.liberalcurrents.com) newrepublic.com/article/2053...
🧵 Trump administration AI policy is widely described as deregulatory. This description is misleading. What's happening is not the absence of governance but its rearrangement--intensive state intervention operating through mechanisms we don't typically call regulation. www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...
The mirage of AI deregulation
One of the most interventionist approaches to technology governance in the United States in a generation has cloaked itself in the language of deregulation. In early December 2025, President Donald Tr...

There are only three possible outcomes for undocumented immigrants in this country: mass deportation, amnesty, or legal limbo (i.e., status quo for last 40 years). The first causes violence in communities and harassment of citizens. The third quietly ruins people's lives, as opportunities pass them.
The best time to abolish ICE was 2003, but the next best time is right now.
ICE has been terrorizing peaceful communities for months, routinely escalating situations and making people feel unsafe in their neighborhoods. And now a woman is dead. DHS has been reckless in their hiring, training, & execution. Sec Noem should resign & apologize to those harmed by her actions.
