My mother survived walking through Hiroshima the day after as a 13 year old, so I have a fair idea of what a nuclear holocaust looks and feels like 🇯🇵 🇳🇿

Well look at that,11 yrs ago it was the Key govt. Bit of a trend here, Nats are fucking useless with economic fundamentals. So move aside you bungling bastards, enough of your bullshit bias and your blatant bigotry. The ghastly Bishop and Brown are despised by all. Best bugger off & let NZ grow!

“This is an initiative of the chief government statistician, it is an initiative that’s come out of Stats NZ. It’s been in ferment for several years now,” said National Party Minister of Statistics, as he sought to nimbly side-step the bus he had just chucked Stats NZ under. #nzpol

The Government lacks the 75 percent support needed to push reforms through – but the next Parliament could vote to delay the 2028 census.

Waikato Gardens and its Metropolitan Centre (the 3rd and largest Metro Centre in Waikato) pretty much complete. Yes it is a Transit Oriented Development with lots of transit and pedestrian streets. Now to Pahurehure which will use the Japan urban set #CitiesSkylines2

The (Japanese) founder of the rail based (self funding if not near self funding) Transit Oriented Development. Something we try to emulate here in New Zealand but have very severe allergic reactions in doing so when NZers find out it is a TRANSIT Oriented Development not a CAR Oriented Development.

Japan's railway empire was built by an unemployed dreamer 🚃

Ichizō Kobayashi failed as a banker, quit,
and moved his family to Osaka to start a business—
just as the economy took a downturn.

No job, three kids, no plan.

So he took on the a struggling railway business,
and turned it into an entire ecosystem:
towns, department stores, even a theatre.

That became the model for private railways across Japan 🇯🇵

We recently took our community to the Ichizō Kobayashi Memorial House, where we experienced a traditional tea ceremony in the tearoom he cherished.
Over matcha, we honored the founder of Hankyu Corp.—the company that grew into Hankyu Corporation, which now operates our coworking space FUTRWORKS.

It's a good reminder that any of us can build something great.

We hope our space will inspire the next great idea too.

Non-white people have been called monkeys by the white people they’re trying to help, and this society must somehow figure out a way to understand that the problem in this situation is white people
