It's funny to me when people pretend they don't understand what long-time residents in particular cities mean when they use the term "transplant." Of course you do. They mean HOSTILE and DISRESPECTFUL people who move into cities and expect those cities to cater TO THEM and their personal bullshit.
"Transplant hate" is about people who want to turn the city into a bigger version of their shitty hometown -- just as white, but w/better [insert ethnicity here] food. It's not that people move. It's that they move & then use cash and cops for racist blandification.

They really don't see the difference between like, jazz musicians flocking to NYC in the 20s, or even all the more recent intrepid souls (Madonna, whatever) who came to make their way, vs the new type of gentrifiers who only patronize Starbucks and call the police 🤦🏽♀️

Yes what @alsorae.bsky.social said. I would also add, they're moving into more and more spaces that are outside of the areas that transplants traditionally lived in.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but constant, chaotic, unfiltered news and social media can overwhelm the mind—flooding your attention, stirring up emotions, and making it hard to think clearly. It’s okay to step back and be selective about what you let in. Your mental well-being matters.
