You were right about it being an unpopular opinion. Closed captioning is an accessibility feature and if you are for that, you might as well read subtitles. Dubbing takes away from the feeling of the original language. Imagine Shaolin Soccer without the nuance of the humour from the region?

I have an unpopular opinion that has never not felt justified. Subtitles for foreign language films are bad. If I wanted to read, I would read. I watch a movie to Observe the Image. Purists claim dubs ruin the intended effect as if it's preferable to spend 2 hours looking at 10% of the screen.

Its always surprises me that artists who take on commissions do not communicate the status or timeline of work. Overcommunicate if possible, just to keep yourself in the clear. Inform your clients about work, show them updates, be realistic.

Dear artists, You NEED to keep in contact with your commissioners. That's right, all of them. If they paid you money, you MUST communicate with them and tell them what's going on. You cannot just ghost someone for months and months after promising a quick turnaround and expect them to be happy!

Techbros seem to love Tolkien, so here's an analogy to help you understand what genAI is. GenAI is The One Ring. You think your use is justified, b/c you don't have evil in your heart. But it came from evil, it is intended for evil purpose, & anything you do with it will be twisted to that end.

What a 'pie in the sky' argument. The current models do not 'think' or 'reason' and we are far from any signs of any code that can do so. All the evidence stacked against LLMs, Yet you have yahoos going 'is c3po a person would you be mean to it?' Even as a thought experiment, this is banal.

If you're opposed to machine learning making outputs based on training on copyrighted art, are you opposed to ai in general doing it, or opposed to the current types of models doing it? That is, if you had C-3PO, would the same rule apply?

One hero OC has been with me for over 30 years, now named Rapier (like the sword) but originally just called R. He looks like a superhero musketeer, equiped with two blades, and has always been very rich (I had simple taste when I was 8).

Once upon a time, I made a bunch of OCs to use in Mutants & Masterminds, though I never got to play. Now I think I'll convert them to Outgunned Superhero and release them on my Ko-fi as premade heroes. Maybe add some new ones to fill in all the roles 🤔 #RPG
