I was told you couldn't do 3D on the Playdate, so I did it. Then I was told there was no way I could create exterior levels like those in Mirror's Edge, so I proved them wrong again.

Absolutely buzzing to announce that I've joined @cr-games.bsky.social as editorial strategy manager 💖 I've loved (almost) every aspect of being a journalist over the past 15 years but I'd been wanting to get closer to games for a while now so here I am, ready to champion the weird and wonderful!
📣 AHOY! After 65 issues, today will be my last day working with Edge! I just had an opportunity I couldn’t pass on (more on that soon 👀) and I’m leaving Knowledge in very capable hands – there’s big things on the horizon so keep an eye out. I’ll definitely be cheering from the sidelines! So long! 🌟
It's back! The annual video game industry conflict minerals report returns for 2025! Let's see which gaming hardware companies are actually checking their supply chains to ensure they're not funding armed conflict and human rights violations, shall we?
We investigated which gaming hardware companies did their due diligence in 2025 to make sure their Xbox, PS5, Switch, PC, and accessory supply chains aren't funding armed conflict. Some...did far better than others. https://kotaku.com/gaming-companies-hardware-conflict-minerals-2025-2000702545

I hadn't talked to Evil Empire since 2023 and the Castlevania DLC so it was truly lovely to go full circle with Benjamin Laulan, now making an actual real Castlevania game! We also talked about their own IP, how the Triple-I showcase is what set things in motion for Brotato live ops and SO MUCH MORE
This week, we talk to @evilempirestudio.bsky.social about going from "three guys publishing Dead Cells" to 60 people making the next Castlevania. COO Benjamin Laulan tells us about how it's approaching the iconic franchise with modern takes. Sign up to read more on Friday bit.ly/knowledgenewsletter
happy Moomintroll day to those who celebrate 🙂↕️🌬️
Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth is out NOW on Steam and Nintendo Switch 💙🎮 We hope you have a wonderful journey with Moomintroll ❄️💐
This is an extraordinary, searing interview. In the context of the repulsive new Jackson biopic, it raises questions about why so many people just don’t want to know what he did. FWIW I saw Leaving Neverland before HBO pulled it, and I absolutely believe those kids.
Dan Reed was a documentary filmmaker who specialized in terrorism and war when he detoured into very different terrain, explosive in other ways entirely: the accusations of child sexual abuse that have followed Michael Jackson since 1993.
I was on holiday! Now 💫 I'm back 💫 and you know that rain or shine Ill always find ways to write about Tove Jansson's work. So surprising no one whatsoever, check out this week’s issue to read my chat with Are about the release of Moomintroll Winter's Warmth (which I'm very much looking forward to!)
This week we talk to @aresundnes.hypergames.no about the upcoming release of Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth, 14 years of Hyper Games, and the opportunities that funds like @wingsfund.me represent for the industry as a whole. Tune in on Friday to read more: bit.ly/knowledgenewsletter

In the four years I've been at IGN I've watched its staff shrink and shrink, all while those who remain are asked to do more and more. I see colleagues skip lunch, stay late day after day, and burn out. IGN staff are passionate and love their work. But we can't keep letting that be exploited.
Ziff Davis and IGN routinely decide that work done by our laid off colleagues is not important. But inevitably, that crucial work falls onto those who remain. Not this time. Not anymore.
The biggest shoutout to Alan (@damisanthrope.bsky.social) for covering Gamescom for Knowledge 🙌 Sign up below if you want to get a feel for the show and how it reflects what the industry is going through, plus hear from @playstack.com CEO Harvey Elliott about life after Balatro (and much much more!)

BAFTA member babyyy 💅 joke aside: I'm very proud, it feels very meaningful and, if you had told me in 2015 when I arrived in the UK that this would happen, I wouldn't have believed it. Will this be enough to fight impostor syndrome? I can't wait to find out! (thanks @baftagames.bsky.social!)
