Ink, marker, and gouache on paper. "Planet" built by Robert Stephenson in the 1830s following the success of "Rocket". They had quite a talent for naming locomotives back then!
Got something big coming down the track! If you need me, I'll be in my engineering cap working on TRAINS! It doesn't say it well here, but I'm writing this one as well as illustrating! Wooooowoooooo!
So this past March I had the pleasure of painting this Mural for Level 99. I wasn't able share the work until now because that Level 99 location is Disney Springs, Florida! I am beyond thrilled to have my work there along with over 40 pieces of art, plus the Level 99 games are the best!
It's been a while since I've posted art, and I'm hoping to remedy that over the summer. But I've been making lots, doing some experiments with mixing media, more on that soon. In the meantime, here's a new(ish) ink and marker piece. What should I call it?
Another piece I put together in early December. Sold before the MICExpo, so this the first time I've shared the work. I'm pretty happy with those pigeons. Ink, marker, and gouache on toned tan paper. 5.5" x 8.5"
Here's some close-up shots of this new piece. I'm calling it "Dog Walker". 5.5" x 8.5" ink, marker, and gouache on toned tan paper.
Thank you so much to all the hard work put in for @massmice.bsky.social . It was such an amazing weekend. I had so much fun, met so many wonderful people and was reminded once again what an amazing comics community we have here in Boston! I feel lucky to be a part of it!!!
New work! Squeezed in some time this week to produce a few new original pieces to bring with me to MICE this weekend. These bots are on 5.5" x 8.5" ink, marker, and gouache on toned tan paper.
Weeeee! MICE is here, MICE is here! This weekend Dec, 6+7 (cough). At Boston University Fuller Building. I hope you will come by and say hello. Table 83B! And if you are there on Saturday I'm taking part in the Carousel Comics Performance event. 1pm.
So excited to be taking part!

I had a great experience printing this book with Print Ninja. If you'd like a copy you can get it on my website or Etsy. Also... I'll be wt Non Fictin Comics Fest in Burlington Vt. This weekend. AND MICE. In Boston Dec. 6 and 7!
We printed Jerel Dye's The Cycle with an uncoated, stucco-textured cover paper, to introduce readers to the kinetic experience of an accordion comic. Check out more of Jerel Dye's work on bsky or on tumblr @drawjereldraw. Got a crazy idea you want to make reality? Check us out!

While we’re at it: from my 2018 comics essay “About Face,” laying out the normalization of fascist presence via pop culture & consumer goods. It’s also the central chapter of SAVE IT FOR LATER. popula.com/2019/02/24/a...
Science Comics: Computers comes out today!!! I am so excited that this book is finally out there in the real world! It's been a long journey, and I want to give a shout out to Perry and Penelope, what a fun team! And thanks for First Second for believing in this book! Get your copy today!
One of the great joys I had working on this book was the chance to really tap into my cartoony side. All the goofy, silly, ridiculous stuff was there in the script and Perry and Penelope really let me go wild! Aside from just teaching, I think this book is really funny! Computers is out TOMORROW!!!
We are almost there! Science Comics: Computers comes into the world next week! 10/21 Visit Veniac.com for more info. Including upcoming events!
Hey all, here is a snapshot of the cover creation process for my upcoming book, "Computers" ! Hope you enjoy this glimpse behind the curtain! The book comes out Oct. 21, but you can pre-order today. us.macmillan.com/books/978162... #comics #graphicnovels #kidscomics
Hey, I finished this mural! I actually finished it about 2 weeks ago, but I've been so busy I hadn't had the time to post about it. It's going to be installed sometime later this year at Level99 in Natick, MA. #mural #painting #robots #scifiart #traditionalart
Made big progress on this mural these week. Hoping to finish it by next week! Thanks to Level99 for the opportunity to work this big!
Another round of marker tests. I got kinda garish with the colors, but I like 'em anyway! #drawing #penandink #marker #copic #scifiart #spaceship #conceptart
I recently had the pleasure of digging back into marker drawing. I've got to get my chops back up for a project (can't talk about it yet!). Here are the first three practice drawings I did. #marker #drawing #penandink #scifi #copic #spaceship #doodle #artpractice
