sad news for all the vibe coders which apparently includes the leadership of this webbed site but i can do this cool trick where once i determine what the structure of the code should actually be to avoid future tech debt i can simply put it down into text at the speed of typing you know. coding

Ironic how even the metaphor fails to understand the underlying issues. Safer / electric cars are not the solution, expanded public transport is. Those that don't use AI to code (me) aren't just trying to ride an ethical high horse. I actually enjoy the act of writing code / working on a problem.

People who aren’t using AI to code at this point are delusional or lying, trying to ride a horse down the highway and backing up the traffic instead of asking “what can we do to make cars safer and electric.” They have no ethical high ground

Where's my fucking open-source image editing tool that actually competes with Photoshop? Where's my Wayland compositor that genuinely doesn't suck? Where's my fix for every NVidia driver problem on Linux? You keep saying how great these tools are then making nothing good with them!

tech companies seem to think i want to interface with a computer by speaking to it but i actually want to interface with a computer by shooting it with a gun

Alright y'all, this is it! The final stretch for the game industry hardship fund. We've got $13k to raise in 14 hours to meet the final goal, I think we can do it. itch.io/b/3802/game-...

In response to the unprecedented number of game developers laid off this year, we have created a bundle on itch to benefit a Game Industry Hardship Fund, managed by @videogameworkers.bsky.social. More than 100 games for 10+ bucks! Please share widely and donate generously! itch.io/b/3802/game-...

the skeleton key to understanding contemporary consumer culture is that doing a good job costs money so corporations have abandoned the concept

Our games industry is people. Our studios are people. Our teams people, our games by people for people. Our games are made by people, in groups of people, in teams of people, making people things for people. The magic is people, and the people deserve so much better than all this. I am so sorry.
