Our statement on the killing of two cyclists in the last week
Statement from @bikeboston.bsky.social, @streetsboston.bsky.social, and @walkmass.bsky.social about Louisa Gag, who was hit and killed by a driver today. Yet another life taken because our society and leaders refuse to address the destruction wrought by cars.
My friend is dead. A driver, through neglect, recklessness or malice, has killed Louisa. I’m beside myself with grief and filled with righteous anger at a city that has stalled and slow-walked safety improvements for all road users. Louisa should be here with us.
A cycling advocate and transportation planner for the city of Boston was identified as the cyclist who was struck and killed in a crash near Roxbury Crossing this morning.
Come to the Aeronaut Brewery on Wednesday, July 15th at 6pm to hear the founders of Malden Safe Streets talk about how they are growing a grassroots advocacy group in Malden. Come out and support our neighbors to the north!
