Today Mark Petterson took his oath and joined the team. Mark co-founded Warwick Energy in 2000 and has developed three offshore wind projects that are now in operation. They include Thanet, the world’s largest offshore wind farm when it came onstream in 2010.

Let no one be in any doubt that racism and homophobia are growing in this country. They are being normalised through divisive social media platforms, hateful online content and far-right politicians. We must take a stand, defend cultural liberalism and make racists and homophobes feel ashamed again.

"This hatred, it’s like a cancer. It spreads because people will always say, ‘Oh, it’s just the illegals.’ It’s not. “From what I experienced, it was anyone who was remotely different, different creed, different colour, different sexuality.” www.theargus.co.uk/news/2665180...

Easy to complain that you see nothing from the Lib Dems but the Deputy Leader and Treasury Spokesperson did a press conference today about the Lib Dem budget asks and nowhere to be found on the BBC.

Service personnel can spend years in single living accommodation. Julie Smith, Defence spokesperson, has won a change to the Armed Forces Bill that sets a military homes standard at least equal to the decent homes standard.

I met law firm Browne Jacobson at Parliament's Black History Month Fair. Today, only 3% of UK lawyers are black. Their REACH programme is working to change that by helping to recruit, develop & retain black talent across the profession. I'm delighted to see firms like them breaking down barriers.

I joined ITV London to discuss the safety of elected representatives and the increasing risks faced by those in public life. Robust political debate is essential, but abuse, threats and intimidation have no place in our democracy.

Reports over the weekend show the Labour establishment is fighting against electoral reform. If Andy Burnham is serious about changing our politics, it will take real courage – and we need it more than ever.

ITV’s undercover report exposing racist and misogynistic comments by Reform UK councillors will be aired in full tonight. According to Reform sources it’s just a “few bad apples” but we’ve been here before….

The reason we must stay in the ECHR is because we have to protect British people’s rights. That’s something the Conservatives and Reform just don’t get. Highlights from my speech in the House of Commons last week:

The danger of narrowing choices at 14 is that it rarely affects the most privileged. Too often, it's children from disadvantaged backgrounds who are told to lower their sights. @libdems.org.uk believe every young person should have the opportunity to pursue whatever future they choose.

#OnTheDoors resident: Taxes here are too high. Same resident: Foxes keep chewing the wires under my van. Can't you do something about them? Drivers are crazy. Can't you run a road safety campaign? I don't like driving through the traffic calming measures.
