This is one of the main reasons for sanctuary cities. If undocumented people are afraid to call police, it’s open season for criminals and everyone is worse off. Republicans want to make you feel less safe in the hope some will turn reactionary and vote for them. It’s also red meat for Fox News.

Undocumented immigrants already have the lowest crime rate, but tough-on-immigration policy makes immigrants less likely to report crime.
