The thing we all forget about Howard Dean is that he was lagging way behind in the polls; he came in 4th in Iowa IIRC. The way they ran that loop on him was pointlessly cruel, because he wasn't a frontrunner or a real contender. He was just a guy who got overhyped, but they wanted a cheap pop.
