One reason we believe Virginia in general and Charlottesville/Albemarle in particular should build a lot more housing is that Virginia is the only southern state with a shade of green in this map. We should be a place where LGBTQ+ people are safe AND have access to quality, affordable housing.

Having an in person international or national event in America? Are you weighing factors like lodging and transport? Cool stuff to do? Here's a map to consider if any of your attendees may possibly, even remotely be LGBTQIA. And you care about them.

Your Friday reminder: The world is a complex, interconnected, finite, ecological-social-psychological-economic system. We treat it as if it were not, as if it were divisible, separable, simple, and infinite. Our persistent, intractable global problems arise directly from this mismatch.

Livable Cville believes that housing is the solution to homelessness. While there may be many steps along the way, housing for all is the goal we should be working to achieve. We look forward to you joining us at this event as we seek to make homelessness in our area rare, brief, and non-recurring.
