Bike Fun creates joyful bicycle riders in Middle Tennessee through classes, workshops, events, & one-on-one lessons. Find us at nashvillebikefun.org.

E-bikes give people affordable, clean transportation. If kids are getting hit by pickup trucks, the answer isn’t to treat e-bikes like the problem; it’s protected bike lanes, safer crossings, lower traffic speeds, and infrastructure that keeps everyone separated from multi-ton vehicles.

Hostile Architecture: Ruining or removing benches to reduce the risk of poor people sleeping. Traffic Calming: Expensive and gentle nudges for rich people to slow down and reduce how often they kill people with their cars. What if, for safety and comfort in public, we flipped the priorities?

🚨 JUST SCHEDULED 🚨 13-17 year old Learn to Ride will be in Bellevue in August! Do you know a teenager who never quite got comfortable riding a bike - or never learned at all? We can help! 📅 Sunday, August 9th 4-6PM 📍 Bellevue UMC, Nashville TN 37221 🌐 nashvillebikefun.org/events for info

A teenager is riding a green bicycle with front and rear fenders on pavement with the background blurred to indicate motion. It's probably spring-ish or fall-ish since they are wearing a sweatshirt with shorts but teens can wear all kinds of wild clothing choices so we're not sure what season it is. Text 13-17 year old Learn to Ride is superimposed over the picture.

Yes, the debate over East Bank Boulevard is still going on. The Metro Planning Commission will soon consider an amendment to the Major and Collector Street Plan that will create the framework for the types of streets we can expect to see in Wasioto Bend. www.nashvillepost.com/politics/met...

This is an appreciation post for those of you who don't bike/walk yourselves but support safety improvements for other reasons - solidarity, community mindedness, or you just don't want to hit someone with your car. I see you!

Update on the #LEGO Road Bike: Building it took up most of the morning and was really fun. It's nice to see how LEGO used very specific existing parts for this bike, like dragon horns from the Ninjago sets for the handlebars and minifigure hockey sticks to form the rails on the saddle.

I wasn't planning to buy a new bike today. But I wasn't planning to visit the LEGO store either. Things happen. 😄 Now please don't bother me this weekend! #LEGO #LEGOIcons #NewBikeDay

Your friendly neighborhood car dependency researcher here. If we want to get people out of car dependency, we need to let people who are car dependent talk to us about what's keeping them in car dependency. It's really not enough to say, "you should be less dependent on your car" I've tried.

A little rain during the class but WE DID IT, Y'ALL! Big thanks to our instructor & volunteer corps & to the Exchange Club of Bellevue & the Jeff Roth Cycling Foundation for the support.

A whole lotta people who are learning to ride bikes with supporters & cheerleaders behind them. All of these riders deserve safe & protected places to ride!

22 bikes prepped & loaded for our All Ages Learn to Ride class tomorrow! If it rains hard in the morning we'll be sad but at least there's a rain date!

Be careful riding your bike in the Riverfront roundabout folks! It is currently littered with wood screws post CMA Fest. I reported it in Hub. Let’s see if they clean it…

Yelled at on the sidewalk. Threatened in the street. This is the impossible choice people on bikes face when infrastructure fails. Build proper, physically protected bike lanes so a parked truck doesn't force someone into a deadly situation.

I made this graphic on Church Street in Evanston to show the bad options cyclists are faced with when a bike lane is blocked. I’m speaking at the City Council meeting tonight about our unsafe bike lanes and this weekend’s tragic cycling death of Riley O’Neil.
