Build the downtown bike lanes. Personal vehicles just don’t fit downtown, not to mention the safety risks they impose.

This is ridiculous. Shame on NDOT for getting rid of the loading zone on the way down Demonbruen hill. I watched two Lime bike riders get forced into traffic because of this.
Beautiful. Desparately needed on Church St. between interstate and 9th Av. Bike lanes on both sides are blocked multiple times every day.
👀
Every time a violent driver hits a safety feature with their car, a human gets to live the rest of their life.
In other words they are doing their job
One of the Commerce Toronto barriers is already damaged too 🤦♂️
“About a week before somebody hit it coming southbound and flipped the car on its side,” she said. “I’m not really surprised. They’re super low, and if you were driving aggressively or something, you might not have seen them,” Ogg said. That barrier is providing the necessary protection.
A grim reminder of the danger that E-bikes bring to our streets and sidewalks every day.

People that block parking protected bike lanes when said parking is completely empty are a special breed
To give @nashvilledot.bsky.social some more love this week, on my commute in this morning I noticed one beg button I Hubbed on the 4th had already been repaired and another I Hubbed on Sunday was in the process of being repaired as I passed!
AND - when will these be installed on the Church Street viaduct? Rare is the morning or evening commute when I'm not forced out of a bike lane by a car/truck parked in the bike lane. Including our Waymo friend here.
East side commuters beware! The Davidson bike lane near the ped bridge is currently a waterslide
Bad wreck at Church & 16th Ave N, an intersection I just reported to Hub as needing a traffic light and crosswalks. It feels dangerous even as a driver but the biggest issue is that peds cross here often because of the hotel. Church St Complete Street redesign when @nashvilledot.bsky.social?
Has any tactical urbanism project in Nashville actually been redesigned by NDOT with real infrastructure. Isn’t that kinda the goal? Fix the problem cheaply until the city can actually fix it?
It may be time to upgrade these flex posts to big rocks
Does anyone know if they’re going to start construction on the Chestnut and Edgehill bike lanes this month?
The greenway/1st ave being completely blocked for bike and ped thru traffic during events is not cool. That said, it wouldn’t be as bad if we had just built the 3rd Ave mobility lanes we were supposed to.
Greenway closures and the NDP did not
One calculation that blew my mind: When I push a pedestrian beg button to cross an arterial road w/ 40 mph spd limit. Wait of 90 sec means a car 1 mile away gets to priority to clear the intersection before I am allowed to cross the road. I am standing roadside breathing particulates
They installed a full size traffic light on the new section of walk/bike path by the airport Drivers are much more likely to stop at a regular looking traffic light than a HAWK or RRFB But its timed so you have to wait 90 seconds in the hot sun while people sitting in air conditioning get priority
I love when sidewalks near major transit hubs that are also maybe greenways are fully blocked with no warning or suitable detour or crossing all for events that cater to mostly non residents.
