"My boy, we are pilgrims in an unholy land." TCM Sen. Dir. of Orig. Programming (and formerly FilmStruck...) Author of DANGER ON THE SILVER SCREEN. My dream dinner party: Lincoln, Will Rogers and Bugs Bunny.
Nobody knows the art of filmmaking and comedy better than Mel Brooks. To have him select both “Ed Wood” and “Dolemite is my Name” as two of his favorite films of all time is an honor my brain can’t quite comprehend. www.latimes.com/entertainmen...

A major lesson the Democratic Party needs to learn from Trump’s incredibly horrible second term: he is no ordinary criminal. He represents an actual existential threat to the US, a clear and present danger. He should be treated as a vile traitor, not as someone you shake hands with.
Trump thought you wouldn't notice this. The President is using the White House to enrich himself and his family at your expense. We see what is happening and we are going to hold him accountable.
Happy 86th, Bugs Bunny! 🥕 He made his first official appearance in Tex Avery's A WILD HARE, released on this date in 1940. #FilmSky #LooneyTunes #BugsBunny
This is so powerful. Inspired by the March of a Thousand Robes in Poland, retired and sitting judges in the United States walked down the streets of Columbus, Ohio to stand up for the Rule of Law. #JusticeinMotion
The best edit I’ve seen in weeks, you absolutely have to turn the sound on for this one.
My movie Innerspace just turned 39 years young yesterday!! Who here saw it way back when? Who discovered it on cable or VHS? Where did all you Gen Z kids see it??? We're celebrating with a new still of me behind the scenes on my Renfield Collection shop: www.renfieldcollection.com/product-page...

Dear Loser is speaking at the G7 summit right now, so the sound you hear is the world watching and laughing.
It starts today. That is, history must be written and stated, constantly and unceasingly, starting now, that states for the record of all time: donald trump lost his stupid fucking war.
This is a pitch perfect response from @aoc.bsky.social -- she mocks their whining, she brings the receipts and then she uses this move as a sign that Democrats are moving to offense now.
Reporter: What do you make of Republicans saying that Virginia— AOC: Wah wah wah. We have asked Republicans for 10 years to ban partisan gerrymandering. And for 10 years, Republicans have said no. What they’re just mad at is that they have been accustomed to a Democratic Party that rolls over.
Now that trump cleared up the "Jesus or Doctor??" confusion from his posted/deleted pic, here is Thomas Mitchell as Dr. Jesus Christ in STAGECOACH, Lew Ayres and Lionel Barrymore as a pair of Jesuses from the DR. JESUS KILDARE series, & Toshiro Mifune in the underrated DR. SAMURAI CHRIST.
These two—in the pantheon of the funniest mofos who’ve ever walked moist dirt, including the ancient world. This is an extraordinary feat of physical comedy bit from LIBERTY (1929).
In the trump presidency, we are now at that phase in A FACE IN THE CROWD when Lonesome Rhodes can’t help but reveal on a hot mic (welcome to the resistance, Pat Neal) the loathsome pig he’s been along.
A truly excellent @kphipps3000.bsky.social rumination today on video stores, inspired by Alex Ross Perry's VIDEOHEAVEN and the Criterion Channel VHS series. Not a nostalgia piece, but a more clear-headed remembrance of a bygone era. (Also free to read!): thereveal.film/ghosts-of-vi...
Ghosts of Video Stores Past
The Alex Ross Perry documentary ‘Videoheaven’ and an accompanying Criterion Channel series explore our sometimes fraught relationship with videotapes and the stores that rented them.

Sometimes when people say, "That'll be the first line of his obituary," they're right. Alexander Butterfield told a single crucial truth, and there it is, in the first sentence, 53 years later. Will any Trumper be memorialized for even one honest moment? I doubt it. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/09/u...
