Sometimes I do graphic design stuff for telly and film. Other times I make spooky lino prints and things you can buy if you want... 📍Black Country (middle of the UK) https://linktr.ee/SlipperyJack
The Excavation of Hob's Barrow is a whopping all-time high 60% off on Steam until August 18! 💀⛏️🩸 It's the perfect time to check out our folk horror adventure set on the moors of Northern England. The answers lie in the soil...
What with more images of @greenlungband.bsky.social's upcoming Necropolitan album package creeping out into the world, I thought I’d share some details from the lyrics booklet I put together... 💀 The Illustrated Necropolitan Chronicle 💀
'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)

I received my contributor's copy of 'Yclept Thorn' by @hawksmoormusic.bsky.social from Library of the Occult Records. Had fun creating this one..!
This man's artwork is great. My shed is 67% sexier because of his stuff.
I should've done this yesterday, but in the haunted cupboard I just found a batch of old lino printed William Ager crests from A Warning to the Curious. I'll include one with every order from the M.R. James print series til I run out..! 👁️ slipperyjack.bigcartel.com

Monty Rhodes James, born on this day, eighteen sixty two! 👻 Here are my lino prints made over the years based on a bunch of his fine ghost stories...
Hey look, it’s my latest lino print, The Devil at Stanton Drew! 🔥 Very much inspired by a folk tale surrounding the neolithic standing stones at the Somerset village of Stanton Drew. 🔥 This print will go live at 12 00 (GMT) on Friday 31st July... 👁️ slipperyjack.bigcartel.com

Revisited João Pedro Rodrigues’ THE ORNITHOLOGIST (2016). A kind of dreamy, melancholy, homoerotic, folkloric, meandering, provocative survival horror-tinged parallel of the life of Saint Anthony of Padua told through a bird watcher lost in the Portuguese wilderness. I like it..!
My mom (idly scrolling on her phone): "Hm, have you heard of this film, Lost Highway?" Me:
"Look, it's not my fault, Sergeant, that christ and saints are out of fashion..!" The sequence where the dead rise from their coffins and lift up headstones from the ground to batter down the church door to get at the living hiding inside - that right there is The Good Stuff...
Revisited Jorge Grau's anti-establishment eco-aware zombie classic LIVING DEAD AT MANCHESTER MORGUE (1974). A pleasing wonky strangeness with Italian & Spanish actors dubbed in a variety of Brit accents. The undead stuff is genuinely great, lovely rural locations, damp and eerie, just how I like it…
In honour of M.R James' birthday, I've made my story 'Aldeburgh' a sequel to 'A Warning to the Curious' free to read on my Buy Me a Coffee. If you like what you read, and if you can afford it, leave me the price of a coffee. It all helps x buymeacoffee.com/johnnymains/...

Lana Del Rey's Bond theme for First Light blasting in hmv, a gaggle of teens singing along to it, this thing's got legs! Streets ahead of the last couple of efforts for the movies, anyhoo...

My dad (the wood carving guy, you know) hast tuned 70. In typical Wells fashion he demanded precisely zero fuss. Managed to get him out to Upton House. He enjoyed the parched gardens while I enjoyed their fine collection of Dutch art: Rembrandt, Jan Steen, Gottfried Schalcken, Bruegel, good stuff..!

I have one of the gold leaf versions of this print. A lovely thing and hardly haunted at all.
An exciting flurry of orders through this afternoon, thanks everyone! In low stock news, I now only have four copies remaining of Queen of the Field! Next reprint in the next month or so, probably... 👁️ slipperyjack.bigcartel.com

I sometimes wonder what Cadbury's founder - the Quaker John Cadbury a champion of temperance and opponent of "indulgent practices" - would have made of Cadbury's obssesion with marketing Cadbury Flake as "oral s*x in chocolate form".
...I think he’s also partially inspired by Denis Lavant’s nimble devil in Jonathan Glazer’s superb (rejected) Cadbury’s Flake advert... www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Uxn...
Aka 'Trying to get the cat into the carrier for a trip to the vets'...
