I'm a bit white today because I just haven't been in the sun for a bit. You know how it goes. Once I get back down to Mara Lago I'll be fine!

Well, getting grades in by midnight just became a big challenge. Instructure / Canvas has been hacked big time!
False. However, you are the only country stupid enough to elect a convicted felon and accused pedophile, whose only claim to fame is that as a third rate reality TV star.
Is BLS not publishing Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) for 2026? Nothing is listed on their schedule. Can someone with knowledge let me know (@justinwolfers.bsky.social)? www.bls.gov/schedule/202...

If this were true, then the Fed should be raising interest rates to combat inflation and prevent the economy from overheating (AD>AS). Any genuine economist would know this... Instead the administration is pushing for lower rates. I leave figuring out the discrepancy as an exercise for the reader.
Lutnick: "Jay Powell is too afraid to lead the greatest $30t economy in the world. We should be leading with our front foot. Instead we are always leaning back as if something bad is happening. We are doing great. Nothing bad is happening. Greatness is happening. We're growing 4% GDP! Come on."
I take Wikipedia for granted. Reading this Jimmy Wales interview reminded me in our Fantasyland age what a remarkable and important creation it is. True pillar of civilization. Runs on only $200 million a year. Requires our support. So I’m finally donating. Gift link: www.nytimes.com/2025/10/18/m...

ICE agents are so much more lawless than the people they target.
Illinois law requires all registered vehicles to display front and back license plates, without exception. But to evade accountability, masked federal immigration agents are driving around in unmarked cars without plates. chicago.suntimes.com/news/2025/10...?
I'm so glad that Trump restored the meritocracy.
Trump said he deserved a cut for brokering the TikTok deal, and at once there was agreement that his son Baron would have a top executive slot... though he hasn't asked for it, and has no apparent qualifications to hold it. This is how Trump 2.0 works. www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025...
The president just gathered the highest ranking officers in the military to tell them that he may order them to kill American citizens -- and that they better follow his orders. All in response to a series of crises that have no basis in reality. I don't know how to yell any louder.

This is the real defunding of police.
New numbers show ICE is devouring US law enforcement: 1 in 5 US marshals, 1 in 5 FBI agents, half of all DEA agents, and over two-thirds of all ATF agents are now assigned to ICE enforcement. These are agencies with critical jobs they're now NOT doing. www.doomsdayscenario.co/p/ice-is-eat...

Please, the U.S. Open asked us not to share any video of the president being booed heavily by an entire stadium, please respect their wishes, please
Trump gets booed at the US Open today.
The more this settles in, the more its danger and gravity becomes clear. 1. This was a crime, whether under domestic law enforcement, international law or war law. 2. By its very logic, there is nothing preventing them from doing the same within the US. 3. They are bragging about it.
Shot: "In his first term, [Trump] praised then-President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines for doing an 'unbelievable job on the drug problem' in the nation where Mr. Duterte’s government had sanctioned gunning down suspected drug dealers in the streets."
This is why they fired the lawyers.
1/ I worked at DoD. I literally cannot imagine lawyers coming up with a legal basis for lethal strike of suspected Venezuelan drug boat. Hard to see how this would not be "murder" or war crime under international law that DoD considers applicable. Read expert analysis by @bcfinucane.bsky.social⤵️
Which, of course, is why he’s test-running military deployments in American cities. Eventually everybody realizes the rules no longer mean anything, and it comes down to main force.
I signed it, and so should you!
Over 125 economists signed the open letter calling on the President, Congress, and the American public to uphold the principles of Federal Reserve independence and not remove Lisa Cook without due process. There's still time to sign! And please share. #EconSky docs.google.com/document/d/1...

When African Americans applied to segregated southern universities, white officials would routinely dig into their personal lives to find any semblance of dirt that they could play up to pretend they were criminals and therefore unfit to attend the school.
President Trump’s attack on yet another Black woman in public office gives away the game – if you were still harboring any doubt – about his corrupt use of mortgage fraud allegations to target Democrats. talkingpointsmemo.com/morning-memo...
Not even remotely true. According to the Fed, the median and average sales prices for a home peaked in mid-2022 and have been slowly falling — despite several million migrants arriving. But due to high interest rates, the Home Price Index is still slowly rising.
JD Vance: "As we've kicked illegal aliens out of our country, you actually see housing costs start to level off."
So if this "anti crime" military presence is not for the benefit of DC residents, who is it for? This is not a government for the people. This is not a government by the people.
“79 percent of residents either somewhat or strongly oppose the efforts, compared to just 17 percent who backed” Trump’s takeover of DC police
Endlessly credulous about the pretextual actions of an authoritarian. It's not about mortgages. It's not about antisemitism. It's not about crime.
You guys. The Lisa Cook story isn’t about her mortgages. Please please please stop being so credulous.
If you want to put back statues and memorials and names of Confederate traitors while tearing down museum exhibitions on slavery because they don't show the greatness of the nation... the nation whose history you're celebrating is whiteness. The kind of nationalist you are is a white nationalist.
6 months later, with armored humvees and (as of tomorrow) military personnel carrying weapons of war through the capitol, with a concentration camp built in the florida everglades, with SCOTUS and circuit courts enabling this every step of the way, i think this framing has been entirely vindicated
the constitutional crisis is actually 25 years going, but most people shrugged their shoulders and kept moving because it was happening very slowly. we are now in the final constitutional collapse phase, which is moving orders of magnitude faster.
