Yesterday, I had one of those disaster-bureaucracy days in Berlin, being sent from one building to another & nothing worked. Today, things began similarly, but I was lucky enough to interact with 4 super nice, sympathetic, and helpful ladies. Thanks to them, it was a successful-bureaucracy morning

‘In Germany, Jews who reject Zionism are seen as not really Jewish’
For violinist Michael Barenboim, Germany’s memory culture has become a tool for upholding complicity in Israel's crimes and rendering Palestinians invisible.

Now in English. I’ve always opposed the fixation with the Opsroom bcs (among other reasons) it helps the Western discourse & caricature that nothing real happens outside the West. The story about the Pisco Sour is, if anything, a misleading story. There was no space for cocktails in that room

I'm excited to release part 3 of my series on beyond capitalism with @Autonomy_Inst. The big question people often asked about my recent work is—ok sure, but how do we get there? Please have a look at my first sketch of an answer to that question. autonomy.work/portfolio/be...
Beyond capitalism: from design to implementation
The third instalment of Aaron Benanav's 'Beyond capitalism' series turns to the question of transition to a multidimensional economy.

I've been discussing the Malvinas/Falklands a lot. Some strongly believe that it is ironic for anticolonial leftists to defend Argentina's position because in this context it would be the colonialist imperialist side. I push back against that claim here: opiniojuris.org/2026/04/30/t...

Last night, we watched Hail Mary in Friedrichshain, and we were surprised and moved by the inclusion of Violeta Parra’s “Gracias a la vida” (Mercedes Sosa’s version) in the film's soundtrack. Thank you to whoever made that decision! #VioletaParra

Two Central European powers are now planning to develop a nuclear arsenal together. Two countries that have been besieged by internal fascism for years. And in one of these countries, the local fascist party could join the government coalition in the foreseeable future. The stupidest move ever!
These MFs have just ruined this beautiful statue honoring the #workers who built the television tower in #Berlin by placing a horrible skyscraper wannabe in front of the tower – they just hate the city’s historical traces of #socialism

Back in 2023, I noticed the refreshed Ursula K. Le Guin website no longer had this essay. I reached out to ask if it could be restored, and a few days later someone from the foundation sent over the URL to show it was back online :)
