Bosconian arcade flyer. Art by Shusei Nagaoka.
Upper class people kept trying to bring her down and Dolly made it impossible. Just by being herself Dolly challenged what you could look like while being a serious artist and public figure.
"I'm sure of my talent and I'm sure of my love for life."
Dolly Parton and Patti LaBelle playing their acrylics. Two icons.
like the reason Dolly feels like an exceptional human being is because all the things we're talking about today in her lifetime of philanthropy trace back to just .... having empathy and we live in the era of "I Don't Know How to Explain to You That You Should Care About Other People"
Flyer for the Dolly Parton pinball machine from Bally. The pinball manufacturer was the parent company of Midway, the North American distributor for several of Namco’s games such as Pac-Man, Galaga, Galaxian, Mappy, and Rally-X. Bally also made the Pac-Man pinball title Mr. & Mrs. Pac-Man.
Cleaned up this Dolly sketch from a few years ago, mostly to make her hair twice as big, because she deserves it.
She also really debunks the common justifications about religion, region, and age. Your grandparents and parents have shitty values because they have shitty values, not because of anything else. They could do better. Anyone can use their eyes to see the world and have the correct read.
What Dolly taught us is that it is in fact possible to be wealthy beyond your wildest dreams of avarice but still be a fundamentally good person with a strong moral compass, and the only reason more rich people aren't like that is because they don't want to be.
you either get it or you don't, but I really, really do 💔
May her life inspire all of us to stand by our principles regardless of popular sentiment. Can only hope to do a fraction of the good she did
Dolly Parton with Keith Haring in 1985, incredible woman and supporter of LGBTQ people for decades going back to a time when few others dared.
Some people might not be aware, but it is entirely possible that without Dolly Parton we wouldn’t have had a COVID vaccine. She partly funded Moderna’s research and gave the largest individual contribution to make it all happen. Just gives you an idea of the kind of person she was.
“Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” – Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton sends signed, bejeweled guitar to Austin drag performer Brigitte Bandit
The year ended on a high note for one local performer after unwrapping a gift sent from one queen to another.

Texas’s drag ban was found to be unconstitutional this morning and one of the plaintiffs who brought the suit was an Austin-based drag queen who often impersonates Dolly Dolly was named in the final judgement itself and after hearing about the lawsuit, she sent that drag queen a signed guitar
Dolly Parton was not a billionaire, because multi-millionaires who are good people like her never get past that last finish line. Not when there are kids who need books to read and sick people who need vaccines.
every billionaire & tech mogul, they all want to be adored & celebrated without doing the things Dolly did with a fraction of the power & money. What she had, she gave away. I'm sure she was comfortable (& that's good!). But she just relentlessly helped. It's not that difficult. Love. Care. Help. 💚🌸
There are so many donations happening right now that the site has crashed.
Here's the official announcement of Parton's passing from her reps, along with the request that in lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library at www.imaginationlibrary.com
Reminder Amsterdam 1666 has so much ai gen they dont know what's ai or not anymore so keep that in mind
