I hate posts that include ‘I’ll go first’

TAPPER: Iran has declared the Strait of Hormuz closed. Is that true? TRUMP: It's open as far as we're concerned. Don't talk about it. Talk about the reason you asked me to speak.

Explaining the behind the plate umpire to an alien: Alien: wait what is the point of that dude there? Human: Well he doesn’t really serve a purpose, but we like to have middle aged men stand around when 100mph fastballs are thrown. It’s entertaining.

When Kennedy says ‘I’m just having fun here’ is when you know @davidjbier.bsky.social got him. It’s the classic defense mechanism. Someone is being an asshole, someone else calls them out on their bullshit, then the asshole responds with ‘I’m only joking! Gosh!’ yet nobody is laughing

KENNEDY: You said, 'Republicans think can troll their way to ethnic cleansing.' Did I read that correctly? BIER: DHS tweeted for 100m deportations. That would be ethnic cleansing! K: You don't think it's hyperbolic? B: I think advocating 100m deportations is ethnic cleansing. Yes. Your time is up

Pete Hegseth's murderous buffoonery, coming amid a lifetime in which he's betrayed everyone close to him and failed up from one disaster to the next, is a perfect example of how the appeal of Trumpism is that it creates a permission structure for people to openly be their worst selves

Social media created this nonsense idea that not exposing yourself to hatred is isolationist. Choosing to not spend your free time with bigots isn’t living in a bubble. I don’t need to know what’s going on at X. I won’t be smarter or more knowledgeable or empathic by being there. Neither will you.

I'm sure a few ICE agents suspect this already, but it seems very clear that DJT, Miller & Bovino WANT an ICE agent to get killed. They need their own martyr. There is a reason they are putting them in increasingly volatile situations.

The president's threat to impose tariffs on countries that oppose his desire to acquire Greenland shows that he does not see tariffs as an economic tool to help America, but as a weapon to hurt his enemies. That's the fundamental nature of his entire presidency.
