I have given up on all sorts of ~cool~ word processing approaches for writing my book (Zettlr, Ulysses, Scrivener, etc) and am going to do it all in Google Docs because of citation support and the instant sync / sharing options. Honestly feels heretical.

When requesting a letter of rec, I’m proactive by offering to draft my interactions w the prof & dates, goals, achievements, etc. Although not all this info may be included, it considers prof’s busy schedules & gives them a better sense of who I am. Perhaps your students can help you in this way?
