thanks to everyone who reached out about this, Melpert is doing much better (off his tits on kitty-morphine but better) his kidneys were overloaded because his bladder was blocked but the vets removed the blockage and we're just waiting on some results to find out what caused it.

Thoughts and good wishes for @djmuel.bsky.social as their cat, a legend of the Twitch stream, is very ill. They also happen to be one of the best UK leftist streamers on Twitch. Go check them out www.twitch.tv/djmuel for geopolitics from a communist/lefty perspective. Can't big them up enough.

Absolutely. I went to uni in Manchester in the 1990s when it was still affordable. Now my son’s girlfriend, who also went to uni there, has a really good job with a Manchester law firm but can’t afford to live where she works. This is a ludicrous situation and it has to change.

Burnham wants to do what he did in Greater Manchester for the whole of the UK? But what does that mean for the people - not the property developers? Its time to end Rip off Britain. Join.greenparty.org.uk

This. Is. Nuts. The day Trump weaseled a new condition into the Saudi nuclear deal (MBS will not agree because its that they need to sign the Abraham Accords lmao) CNN is running stories with a CIA "think tank" guest manufacturing Iran syle consent about KSA developing a nuke

Various things together: 1) Papers and broadcasters love to set Big Tests for politicians to prove they’re Serious and deserve a hearing as a potential future government. The Times literally set these out in an editorial. Whatever tests they were, Reform have plainly failed to meet the standard.

So what are people's best guess for what exactly it was that made the UK press suddenly stop shielding Farage?

My gosh. Yesterday, Egypt Coach Hossam Hassan asked FIFA to use its "soft power" to help Palestinians. Then today, just as the Egypt-Argentina match began, Israel killed Mohammed al-Wahidi of the Egyptian Relief Committee in Gaza — a group that also organized Gaza screenings of the FIFA matches.

Not to see the storm cloud in the silver lining but it is sickening to see that Farage, whose career has been entirely made possible by the disgusting British media, is now being disposed of by them. Like they flipped the switch and made the last 10 years possible, now they can just flip it back off
