Gentleman, scholar, acrobat. Frequently opinionated, occasionally right. Opinions are mine, obvs, but should be yours too.

What I find troubling about Badenoch's polling is that, when she faced a really serious test of her judgement over the War in Iran, she failed it spectacularly - and blamed British Muslims. And it's had almost zero effect on her reputation. That says something about us, not just her.

🧵Looked quite a bit over past week at appeal of Burnham, what about Badenoch, whose approvals have risen significantly since a low last Autumn, when barely 10% of voters gave her a gross positive approval, to over 30% and higher net approval than Farage, Polanski & Davey.

The EU still has a Free Trade deal with Israel which benefits Israel massively, in fact they would struggle to survive without it. Why are they still doing Free Trade with Netanyahu when he is playing these stupid games? Boycott Israel, stop Free Trade.

Also ... British feminism doesn't share a history with American feminism. We're different countries, different histories, different relationships with socialism, with trade unionism. Stop unthinkingly accepting America as ground fucking zero, you easily-led, ill-read ahistorical fucking idiots.

I maintain that if Burnham made it legal to confiscate phones from people who watch video or listen to music without headphones, then called a snap election, he could actually increase his majority.

The biggest by-election in British history takes place tomorrow. Quite amazing how little people are talking about the Manchester mayoral race. A couple of months ago Reform looked like a shoe-in, and coverage seemed like it would be off the charts. Neither of those things are now true.

Louis Theroux, whose production company Mindhouse made the poorly reviewed documentary HOW TO GET FILTHY RICH: WITH GARY STEVENSON, has a surprising new podcast guest: Gary Stevenson! During the episode, Stevenson opens up about the heavy burden of being able to consistently predict the future.

I feel like the way of dealing with such behaviour is to look these people right in the eye and say, very gently, "You think your right to park matters more than homes these children?" Then when they reply just repeat it with slightly different emphasis.
