You can use cheap vegetable oil to get even more paint out before you wash with soap, too. Just make sure to wash it out!
💯 this. Just start. You'll eventually figure it out. Also, you can paint solvent-free. Using it isn't required. Took me so long to figure that out! To clean your brushes, just squeeze out as much oil as you can, wash them with brush soap, and then rinse them. Keeps them in good condition.
