It amazes me that there are still enough people paying for online ads to fill up the many, many, many slots on almost every website. My default assumption is that all ads are scams.

The teeniest of teeny complaints. I wish things like nice bread bins, cookie jars, tea caddies etc didn't always have Bread, Cookies and Tea written on them. Seems redundant and they are useful for so many other things.

I'm just within earshot of a series of summer camps that run though July/August. From what I can hear their primary purpose seems to be to teach kids to chant Uggy uggy uggy etc. They practice it diligently, all day, every day.

What drives me absolutely mad, is that gobshite billionaires will do anything to avoid contributing fairly, offshoring accounts etc, and then still get column inches to spout shite about how society needs to be fixed.

I'll never understand how some random guy from Boston is repeatedly sought out by Irish media as a talking head, to bestow his predictable and banal opinions upon us.

I spent all day today thinking it was Friday. Just a couple of hours to go and I realise it is in fact Thursday. Don't know whether I've missed a day or gained one!

I used to overhear my son talking to people online while playing games. I would know the nationality of the person he was speaking to by HIS accent! He emulated the person he was speaking to without having a clue he was doing it.

People are making fun of AOC for having a slight southern accent while speaking in Memphis but they clearly don’t know the pain of habitually and unconsciously imitating the speaking style of the people around you

You sometimes see Government TDs pointing out that Ireland isn’t unique in the world in having a housing crisis. But this graph in today’s Financial Times shows just how extreme ours is compared to the places elsewhere, which also describe themselves as a in a housing crisis.

The share of young adults living with their parents is climbing in many countries and cities, with Ireland leading the way % of people aged 25-34 who live with their parents. National averages vs major regions

[5 line graphs. Ireland’s is sharply above 40% since 2010. The rest show US, U.K., Canada and Australia. The next highest result is the US at just over 20%]

There has to be better packaging than these infernal things. Either there is no starter corner (this one), there is but it doesn't work or breaks off. It's a complete surprise when the occasional one works as "designed".

A piece of salmon on a tray with a supposedly peel off plastic cover. Which like most packages of this kind does not actually peel off.
