The baby stole my goose.

I was in a medication trial a few years ago. I was 99% sure I was on the placebo. After the study, I asked my family dr to prescribe it off label because I really wanted to try it, but ended up with side effects that had me discontinue. Now the study tells me I was on the real drug? What the fuck?

1: our favorite diner is closing. Went there for dinner tonight. Have never been there for dinner, we always go for breakfast. 2: 20-something years ago, I was obsessed with a local band called Day Theory. They got decent local recognition for a while, they were even in the movie “Saved”.

1. Hmm. Calgary, it seems. Also, Calgary is bigger than I expected. 2. Probably Prince George. It’s probable I’ve been there as an infant (I was born up north, I know we drove to the lower mainland a few times which would take us through PG) but not to my recollection.

Questions for all my 🇨🇦 followers: 1. What’s the largest city in Canada that you have yet to visit? 2. What’s the largest city or town in your home province or territory that you haven’t visited yet?

Open air drug use is already illegal, and enforcement is at the discretion of the VPD, which Sim for all intents functionally controls. The province has said that the involuntary care centres in Surrey can take residents from Vancouver. So this is intended to raise turnout from their base.

I recently asked a buyer at a huge indie bookstore how many customer requests it takes for a book to get on their radar, expecting dozens or hundreds. His answer? 5 or 6. At a handful, they start thinking, "Hm, people are calling us for this book; let's bring it in." Five or six.

I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

You know it would be super if people would recognize the role that climate change is playing in the catastrophic wildfires instead of blaming… -check notes- foreign aid spending? But I guess that would require people having to make changes to their lifestyles and we can’t have that.

Coworker: did you hear people are calling for boycotts of Tim Hortons? Me: omg yes I’m so pissed. I mean, the food is awful so I haven’t been in ages, but the HP thing just sucks. You can’t tell me they didn’t know. Coworker: HP? No, because they support Israel. …ok I guess we have lots of reasons.

I'd love to credit whoever wrote this. No idea. But I'm 100% with its message. When I think of how the '80s ethos, "Greed is Good" has metastasized, it surprises and depresses me. Imagine having so many millions, hundred of millions, even billions & caring about nothing except your own vanity.

You know when you’re trying to remember a song but all you have is a feeling, a 70s song with a female singer, possibly the word “midnight”, and maybe a lyric about a horse? Anyway it took me a very long time to remember Midnight at the Oasis. Also, it’s a camel, not a horse.
