El-Sayed: "My commitment to Jewish safety is the same commitment that I have to the safety of my own daughters. Because if there is one question of political philosophy that ought to animate us all, it's what would we do if we treated all our kids like they were all of our kids?"

this is kind of a hobbyhorse issue for me tbh- i haven't seen the image, i don't wanna see the image, but yeah like pics of your toddler playing in the sprinkler or whatever are private and you should keep them that way but characterizing them as CSAM seems to me to be serving no one here

TAPPER: One of the files you released was an image of your daughter naked. It was available for a day before it was removed. Your ex-wife's attorney says it could quality as CSAM. That's shockingly reckless behavior MAX MILLER: I wouldn't say it's shockingly reckless. There was no genitalia exposed

I feel like the "I'm better than you" here gets at the psychology of someone who doesn't actually see voting as a thing you can do to improve the country and the world, but an all or nothing proposition whereby voting constitutes and endorsement of 4 years of geopolitics.

The kind of person who thinks fixing a car is "fun" if you deliberately avoid using a small helpful tool for a quick leg-up in the diag for essentially moralistic reasons is the exact kind of person who doesn't know how to change their own god damn oil.

in the time it took you to write this reply, you could have found the service manual on annas archive for a quarter the monthly cost of a typical LLM you can buy a year of pro service history tools all I'm saying is, it's safer, cheaper, more fun, more effective to do this with conventional tools

Narcissism is terrifying because it can essentially permit you to behave in a very cruel manner without having to face the emotional consequences you'd naturally experience from being that cruel to someone. Thinking you're infallible makes it harder to feel empathy with the objects of your cruelty.

If a human rights organization is very loud about Palestine and very quiet on queer issues - then they're not a human rights org. They're a single-issue group willing to throw you under the bus.

"hi youtube, I'd like to watch progressive political content!" *sure thing! Here's Hasan Piker* "nah he's a crypto-tankie, stop showing me that guy" *here's more of that progressive bastion - Hasan Piker!* "please stop showing me him" *HASAN PIKER SLAMS UKRAINE FOR EXISTING, SAYS TO SURRENDER*

Anyway, my takeaway from the whole “inshallah is cultural appropriation” nonsense is: More people should learn Arabic; not only is it a beautiful, useful, and wildly expressive language, but also — — learning it will actually help you be less racist and stupid about Arabs and Muslims.

The nuclear block should be paired with a feature where every month you can send a petition to one person asking to be unblocked. Like there’s one guy on here who has me blocked who I genuinely quite like, have no major disagreements with, and who talks to my friends a lot. It’s really inconvenient!

Goodbye credit score hello death machine. (If anyone wanted me to die without blood on their hands they'd let me pay this off like really quickly so I could for instance die on it quicker)

I feel like there should be a name for the phenomenon of seeking out talk therapy for the purpose of going there "to get better" and when you get there simply trying to direct your therapist to blame someone other than yourself for your problems.
