May I point out that both El-Sayed and Stevens are Millennials. Generational shift. It's here. It's time. November up here won't just be about progressivism vs. fascism. It will also be about the future vs. the past.

Can we get a reboot of Smokey and the Bandit but with all Sikhs? I want that so badly just to watch a vein pop out of Jesse Watters forehead. At the climax there’s a Bollywood dance number to a cover of “Convoy.”

This is what party unity (and the path to victory) looks like. Primaries need to be substantive contests between candidates with different but compelling visions. And whichever candidate loses , progressive or centrist, needs to support the winning candidate, immediately and with full throat.

I love Michigan and am so proud to have put up my hand to serve. I spoke with Abdul a few moments ago to offer him my full support as we work to defeat Mike Rogers this November.
Thank you, Michigan.

Congratulations to @AbdulElSayed on winning the Michigan Democratic primary to be our nominee for US Senate. Abdul has my full endorsement and support.
This was a brutal primary (believe me, I know). And Trump and Mike Rogers are counting on us staying divided. Let's prove them wrong by beating Mike Rogers and taking our country back.

Congratulations to @AbdulElSayed for winning the Democratic nomination for Senate. It's been a long primary, but now it's time to gear up to beat Mike Rogers (again) and win up and down the ticket.
There is nothing more important than the mission of the next 90 days: uniting, keeping this seat blue, flipping the House and Senate, and providing a real check on President Trump.

The thing I liked most about Craig as Bond was that he could ACT broken. Flemings Bond was a kid whose parents were killed, he was effectively then kidnapped and groomed to be a disposable tool of the government with a moral compass so damaged the arrow had broken off.

correct are you serious about beating fascism or not? get in, we’re beating them in november you can be mad, you can be disappointed, but at the end of the day having someone with D in any and all seats is better than having someone with an R in them

I meant to post this last night but if you’re mad about any of the primary results you got 24 hours to bleed, try not to say anything you’ll regret in 48, and then it’s Blue No Matter Who.

This is a good and accurate mini-thread that also reminds me of an experience I had in my 20s that has stuck with me ever since. I was part of a three-person panel interviewing web programmers for a gig. All three of us were white and very genuinely progressive and anti-Republican. 1/

I think a good way to think about the current moment is understanding white supremacy as a spectrum with passive acceptance as the status quo out to actively arguing for global genocide.

Oregon has set a record for the worst fire season in history, with 2m acres burned, and 2 months before the return of fall rains. Climate change is here. It looks like scorched forests, fires that encroach on major cities, & lost commerce and recreation. My video report from smoke fouled Portland
