Horror nerd, movie nerd, crime fiction nerd, general nerd.

A great piece about Zevon on the anniversary of his death. I also strongly recommend I'LL SLEEP WHEN I'M DEAD by Crystal Zevon, which is not only an incredible chronicle of making music in 1970s LA, but of loving someone brilliant who treats you very, very badly. www.theringer.com/2018/09/07/m...

His Sh*t’s F***ed Up: The Complicated Legacy of Warren Zevon

The late singer-songwriter has been gone for 15 years, but his life and career still aren’t any easier to make sense of: He was as gifted, haunted, and destructive as any musician from his generation.

Yes! Is NEW NIGHTMARE the only meta-horror movie that does this? Maybe FADE TO BLACK (if that counts as meta, I feel like there’s an argument to be made that it does). Any others I can think of play the referential stuff as comedy and/or memberberries

Couple things I love about NEW NIGHTMARE: It avoids relying on wink & point moments. Everything isn't a cute self-reference, it's just part of that world & the story #nowwatching

The only thing I remember about Endgame is Scott Wampler's Thicc Thanos so I think I'm ready for Doomsday. (RIP Scott, who I miss most at times of terrible film discourse)
