do you know what I miss? Sex positivity, and safe, sex positive spaces. (That is a load-bearing comma >_>)
it is so annoying when people are trying to "help" me with a tech issue. I want to tell them just to take their paws off, give me five minutes, and it'll be fixed. I don't need tech-support, and IT can't do anything for me unless something's broken on the backend.
I will absolutely stop being friends with you if you still read Harry Potter. Come the fuck on, you're an adult, they aren't that good, the author is a monster, and there is an ocean of fantastic lit out there.
Ephemeris releases in four days. This is the final eBook cover. I'm anxious. I hope people read it, and I hope people enjoy it. But once it's out there, it belongs to the world, not to me any longer. I can't protect it or improve it. It must fly or fall on its own.
I'm a dragon with a shark sona ... and an involuntary human one.
Well, for better or worse, all the publishing channels are locked in for the release of Ephemeris on 8/14. I really hope people like it. ^~^ www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...

MEMO: Security has released some rather interesting footage of some shadowrunners making a getaway last night. (I swear, every night in the ‘50s was like this.) #Shadowrun
Ephemeris is now available for preorder on Apple Books, as well. Additionally, I realized that Apple Books didn't have Dreams of Refugium, book 2 in the series. That has been rectified. ^_^

I hate marketing. I just want people to read my stuff. It's not about money, it's about telling stories and having people enjoy them. I don't know how to reach people anymore. My engagement has dwindled to nothing. Hashtags don't work, word of mouth isn't working ... I'd welcome advice.

And people just made shows to encourage us to read simply because they wanted us kids to be literate.
I think a lot of us millennials & older really take it for granted that we were the last of only a couple generations where there was an all-encompassing campaign to encourage literacy. Everyone used to agree upon it. There were commercials with your favorite celebrities just being like, "READ!"
Yo, space cadets! I'm low-key planning an online / in person chillax release party for my third book ("Ephemeris") on August 14. If anyone's interested, gimme a nudge!
Time to purge follows. It's depressing how many people I'm following who never followed me back, or who unfollowed me. Oh well, they're all gone now. Hopefully my timeline will be cleaner now. ^_^ Depressingly, many of them probably went back to twitter. BlueSky is like yelling into the void.
This is a well-put version of the point I try to make.
Theory: One of the reasons modern tech keeps getting worse is that previously, someone would develop a technology out of a particular vision or to solve to a problem. They hoped to make money, but the initial goal was the realization of an inspiration for something of genuine value. (1/6)
TL;DR: Tech sucks now because late-stage capitalism demanded pure money goals quickly over any form of the real inspiration to create genuine value that used to lead to long-term profits, and that's ruining useful tech and just about everything else in our civilization.
Why is reddit so full of racist, misogynist, bigoted crap? Is this reflective of society, is it being seeded, or is it some form of automated hate-pump? I can't believe the overt bigotry that has been emerging lately.
