Always enjoy getting an email from an old friend that says: Hope this email finds you still alive. How did we ever lose touch? I'm currently working on piecing together the nature of time and loss. Talk soon. ❤️

If you show up to Bluesky without following anyone, you'll be treated to a series of posts about art, music, and dogs. If you show up to X without following anyone, you'll be bombarded with right-wing conspiracies and white supremacist slop. It's weird which one is seen as a "political bubble"

By me at this.weekinsecurity.com: A major online ads company that claims to serve 1.5 billion ads a day was hacked and began serving malware designed to steal a person's crypto. This is the latest perfect example why you should use an ad-blocker.

An initiative on the ballot in Washington state in November would require all athletes seeking to play girl's sports from kindergarten to high school to undergo "genetic screening, a testosterone-levels test, or an examination of their reproductive anatomy" before they can play

The Campaign to Force Genital Exams on Girl Athletes Soon Washington State could require sex-verification tests for those playing sports in schools.

Bordeaux, France, has now recorded more days above 40°C in 2026 alone than during the entire 105-year period from 1920 (when observations began) to 2025. This is deeply shocking.

The thing that continually amazes me about genAI product roll-outs is that these companies can never articulate a real use case. They didn't start out trying to solve a problem and then figure out that this is the solution, they're just throwing AI in everything because they can.
