I'm in the Guardian today, writing about the question of overdiagnosis of mental illness. I argue we need to stop seeing this as a binary yes/no question - is overdiagnosis happening or is the increase real? - and acknowledge that multiple things can be happening at once tinyurl.com/yzsey97c

Are we really overdiagnosing mental illness?

It’s tempting to dismiss the proliferation of labels as a fad, but there’s more to this phenomenon than a simple culture-war reading allows

February is LGBTQ+ History Month!🏳️‍🌈📣 We put together a short video to highlight some statistics surrounding LGBTQ+ mental health, experience with physical healthcare, and discrimination and hate experienced by the community.💔

I’m thrilled to be starting as a Lecturer in Child and Adolescent Mental Health across the UCL-Anna Freud partnership. I’m grateful to be able to continue my research into identifying risk factors for mental health problems, as well as testing new interventions to prevent their onset and worsening.

Wondering what the conference looked like? Well, here it is! ✨ Hosted at Anna Freud for the day, the event delved into the ReSET Project and our results, as well as touching upon school-related topics such as developmental language disorder, social networks and bullying.

📣Exciting announcement below!📣Curious to know what we're all about? ReSET is a novel indicated preventative intervention to improve the mental health of UK adolescents, by teaching strategies to support emotion regulation and social relationships🥰 (See more...⬇️)
