I have spent the last 8 days in Penticton ICU. The staff are superb and openly talk about the fact that patient:nurse ratios are low enough that they can actually do their jobs properly. They *like* working here, and patients reap the benefits. What a contrast with Smith’s semi-private shitshow.

Still in ICU in Penticton Regional Hospital. Thank goodness for public healthcare. Immediate attention from paramedics, then trauma surgeons and superb round the clock care since. Grateful this happened in BC rather than in AB. Can’t imagine stress of negotiating the AB system after that accident.

Cycling down steep winding road Monday at >60 km/h. Met a driver coming up the hill on the wrong side on a bend. I had to swerve off the road to avoid a fatal collision. I have broken L3 vertebra, 10 broken ribs, scapula and clavicle, and punctured right lung. In ICU. Devin Dreeshen can get fucked.
