We can could cook up various metaphors to describe what AI is doing to society. Try this on: what holds human societies & governments together are our shared beliefs on reality, as determined by the scientific method, our shared "facts", & our belief that such knowledge is even *possible*...

These businesses aren't just wasting billions - they're replacing skilled workers with defective chatbots. As I've written before, AI is the asbestos we're shoveling into the walls of our technological society. 79/

This is extremely violent. It’s an infringement on all children’s rights. Their bodies and lives belong to themselves. This is sacred. I attended a rural school where strapping with a machine type belt was rampant. It never happened to me but to many of my friends. The fear in that school was 🤯

'You'll choke too' - an aerial embroidery landscape inspired by all the wildfires happening right now... I'm upset every time I smell smoke outside and somehow we have people starting them maliciously too! But we all breathe the same air so they'll choke too (1/2 - see thread for close-ups)

An embroidery hoop containing a sewn landscape from above. It shows a forest on the right, a line of fire and charred ground with smoke on the left. The smoke is felted wool.

I ask my bank this all the time. CIBC advisor literally said “we don’t do ethical investing”. I said I didn’t want my small savings to benefit me by investing in oil, nuclear power, war, elder abuse/neglect, big tech, etc. They looked at me like I was from a different planet.
