‘Impressive’ is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Words that come more readily to mind, but aren’t limited to, are: opaque, dodgy funded, corrupt, lack of thought, callous, cruel, revolving doors, septic tanks. They’re a sewer of ideas for immiseration of the poor and advancement of the rich.
Britain has one of the most impressive think tank landscapes in the world, from heritage institutions like Chatham House to politically-aligned bodies like IPPR. Most of the policies which Burnham will present in his first 100-days agenda will probably have their origin in think tanks.
