By the way, this is a response to seeing small businesses in Ohio stand up to Bucc-ee's for their lawsuit against Beavercreek Mini Mart. They are right for banding together and backing up their fellow small local business, but WHY does that support stop when it comes to small local artists
I have so much untethered fury at small businesses who use genAI and then people all gather around to play the "support the small business" card, conveniently ignoring that ARTISTS ALSO HAVE SMALL BUSINESSES and you are COMPLETELY SHITTING ON THEM
Perfect illustration of the AI deskilling project trap. If you want to pretend these things are a tool (they're not) then you're completely beholden to having your tools changed or taken away by a black box system that changes on a whim. You're now completely reliant on the thing they took away.

It always strikes me as weird that you're not supposed to speak ill of the dead, but our libel laws are structured in such a way that you can't speak honestly about people until after they have passed. Also, it's good to be reminded to live your life so that people will not celebrate your passing.
