the lessons we need to take are clear. Dolly said "find out who you are and do it on purpose", and Tim Curry's line is "don't dream it, be it" they would both be disappointed if we wrote that off as corny. so what? it's necessary. we have everything to lose if we are dishonest to ourselves.
If Dolly was our constant reminder that it was Good to be Good, Tim Curry was our reminder that it was Good to be Weird. Embrace your strangeness, sing with Muppets, wear your lingerie with a leather jacket, and fuck with uptight people who hate anything that makes them remotely uncomfortable.
